Types of Adverbs
Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives and other adverbs by answering the following questions When? Where? How? How often? To what extent?
Time | When? She always arrives early. | early, late, soon, now, then, today, tomorrow, yesterday |
Place | Where? They go everywhere together. | here, there, inside, outside, far, near |
Manner | How? She eats slowly. | slowly, quickly, well, badly |
Frequency | How often? I always lose my keys. | never, ever, usually, always, often |
Degree | To what extent? It’s very cold, isn't it ? | too, quite, very |

Most adverbs of manner end in –ly.
badly, happily, sadly, slowly, quickly
Adverbs of manner not ending in -ly ( well, hard, fast) appear at the end of the sentence.

Frequency adverb Never is used in affirmative sentences.

Frequency adverb Ever is used in negative and interrogative sentences.
